Fort Randall Dam Intake Gate Controls

We were responsible for removing and replacing all equipment associated with gate hoist controls, including shaft encoders, upper travel limit switches, slack cable limit switches, master pushbutton stations, gate seal air valves, outlet gate air vent position switch. We also replaced all wiring associated with equipment being replaced.

In addition, Sievert Crane & Hoist provided new Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) that would control the gate hoist per the customer’s requirement. We performed operation testing of the controls and provided training to the government personnel.

Sievert Crane & Hoist also provided fiber optic cable for communication between the government control room and the gate hoist. Through our expertise, Sievert Crane & Hoist successfully completed the project, ensuring the safety and reliability of the gate hoists at Fort Randall Dam.
