Replace Intake Gate Controls, Fort Randall Dam

Scope of Project
The project involved replacement of electric controls for 24 gate controlling hoists

• Remove and Replace all equipment associated with gate hoist controls including, Shaft Encoders, Upper Travel Limit Switches, Slack Cable Limit Switches, Master Pushbutton Stations, Inching Pushbutton Stations, and New Gate Hoist Control Cabinets, gate seal air valves , outlet gate Air Vent Position Switch.
• Replace all wiring associated with equipment being replaced.
• Provide new Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) that will control the gate hoist per the customer’s requirement.
• Perform operation testing of the controls
• Provide training to the government personnel
• Provide fiber optic cable for communication between government control room and the gate hoist.

Draft Tube Crane Rehabilitation, Norfork Dam

Project Details

• Demolish the existing 10 ton draft tube gantry crane
• Manufacture and Install a new 10 ton monorail crane and monorail structure

• Demolish existing concrete slab and construct a new concrete slab.
• Lead paint abatement, asbestos abatement
• Operational and load testing (125% of design load)
• Provide training for equipment operation to the government officials

40T Bulkhead Lifter Upgrade and Repair, Dam 15

Project Details

• Complete redesign and upgrade of the electrical systems on the bulkhead lifter
• Removal of the existing controls, bridge drives and handled the lead abatement and asbestos abatement associated with it.
• Design new motors and VFD controls for the bulkhead lifter and both 20T hoists and trolleys.
• Everything was installed in the captive dam without removing the crane.
• Remove existing crane electric system.
• Design of 1500ft fully heated and enclosed conductor bar system located directly over the Mississippi river
• Installed everything with 100% our crew of union ironworkers, electricians, and hoist technicians.
• Load tested on site

40T Gantry Crane Upgrade, Nimrod Dam

Scope of Project

• Complete inspection of 40T Gantry Crane including the crane drive assemblies.
• Inspection and repair of gearing including design and fabrication of replacement gears.
• Design and replacement of the complete electrical system including controls, motors, brakes, and limit switches.
• Value engineering of the design to improve performance and save cost. Controls and motors were converted to a VFD type control system.

40T Crane and Bulkhead Lifter Repair, Lock and Dam 20

Scope of Project
This one of a kind piece of equipment was severely damaged in a storm. The unit consists of a 40T bulkhead lifter/traveling unit with a 40T Linkbelt crane on top. The combined weight of the unit is approximately 140,000 pounds. The unit blew off the tracks and dropped almost 15 feet off the end of the dam. We disassembled the pieces, inspected the unit to find out the extent of the damage and developed a repair plan.

• Provide new motor and brake for the bulkhead lifter.
• Upgrade to VFD technology
• Perform all the weld repairs
• Sandblast, paint and reassemble the unit.
• Perform load testing and train the government personnel.

Mississenewa Overhead Crane Replacement

• Remove existing controls, trolley, bridge drives and handled the lead abatement and asbestos abatement associated with it.
• Design a 140ft long lift 20 Ton hoist trolley unit to fit in very tight headroom conditions.
• Design new bridge drive and full new catwalk for crane along with new VFD controls.
• Installed everything in the air without removing the crane.
• Installed everything with 100% our crew of union ironworkers, electricians, and hoist technicians.
• Load tested with water weights on site.

Crane Inspection, Ozark Powerhouse

Scope of Project

• Perform an inspection on the 150-ton bridge crane
• Identify the cause of shavings that were found on the powerhouse bridge
• Provide a comprehensive report of the findings that provides an assessment of the bridge crane in order to ensure operability
• Provide a cost estimate for any repairs that are required, depending on the findings of the inspection.
