Job Overview

The Overhead Crane Service Technician position requires a hands-on individual with experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance who will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining overhead cranes and hoisting systems. The technician will ensure that all equipment operates safely and efficiently to meet production demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and upgrades on overhead cranes, hoists, and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems on lifting equipment.
  • Provide service reports documenting the status of the equipment and repairs performed.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and company standards while working in production environments.
  • Travel to customer sites, with some overnight stays possible, to deliver service and support.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must have experience in maintenance of overhead crane and hoist systems equipment.
  • Demonstrate solid mechanical and industrial skills.
  • Must have strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Meet the following physical requirements:
    • Ability to stand/walk for up to 95% of the workday.
    • Lift and carry up to 40-50 pounds unassisted.
    • Frequently squat, twist, reach, climb, and bend.
    • Possess adequate depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to hear.

Pay

  • Competitive pay, starting at $25+ up to $45+ an hour depending on skill set and experience.
  • Higher scale sites paying $60 – $80 an hour for certain government clients.
  • Pay raise every year per 4-year union contract.

  • Profit sharing contribution subject to profits of company.
  • Overtime paid after 8 hours per day and all Saturdays, double time paid after 12 hours and all Sundays and holidays.
